Packing up!
Hi all!
So I’ve decided to make the move to WordPress.org using a self-hosted site. The URL should remain www.calliopespen.com and SUPPOSEDLY it will be a seamless transition. Hmmmm. Sounds too easy to me…
If I disappear from blogland for a while, it means I’m lost in cyberspace. Wish me luck!
UPDATE! Lesson #1: DO NOT CHANGE NAMESERVERS UNTIL YOUR SITE IS LIVE EVEN IF TECH SUPPORT SAYS IT’S OK.
Update your links to calliopespen.wordpress .com for now….stay tuned:)

I’ll be by to give it a read soon, Cynthia:)

I have thought about making this change–what do you think? BTW, I have a cool poem by Shaindel Beers posted on my blog at the moment. Would love to know what you think about it too. Hope you’re having a poetic and delicious Thanksgiving.

Hi Robert,
I am learning the pros and cons this week. Yes, the theme issue is definitely a pro. The tweaking needed is definitely a con for somebody who has never attempted it. Can’t take credit for the theme, but there’s a link at the bottom of the page that points you to the developer.

I was wordpress.org for quite a while. Now I’m back with .com Each has positives and negatives. Of course, a very big positive is what everyone is seeing right here on your site. What a cool theme! And all themes available, and new ones being designed. So many times I’ve been close to going back to .org
I love your theme here!

Good luck! I am sure you will be happy with the results! I use wordpress.org for my personal website and it has some very cool features, especially when you start figuring out how to mess with the code.

When you’re all settled in, I hope you’ll say why you went this route.
I registered my domain, but stayed with WordPress.com. I’ll pay for the CSS upgrade when I have time to fiddle with it. But for now, I think that’s all I need.
And DarcKnyt, I completely forgot you were the one who tried to explain all this to us before.

Good luck with this, D! I have thought about doing this myself, so let us know how this works out for you..

Changing the theme! One of the main reasons I’m doing this is to have more control over the look and feel and to learn some more about websites. I am positive I will be asking you for some knd of help hee hee hee

Good luck!
Are you going to keep the same theme you have here, or will you go get a new one now that you’ll have total control of your CSS?
